QUOTES 11/12/2016

“A date to end the fear of nudity, called gymnophobia, is needed.  Let’s make something like [International] Gymnophobia Awareness Day (or Week).” - https://rfgjga1992.wordpress.com/2016/04/28/lets-do-all-this-to-promote-nudism/

“Some of us have made nudism a vital part of our spiritual pilgrimage.  Perhaps we never intended it at first, but nudism has become a powerful symbol of our separation from the world and its value system.” - http://www.figleafforum.com/articles_symbols_pilgrimage.html

“. . . as I've returned to this [Korean] spa, and as my daughters grow closer to pre-pubescent body changes, my enjoyment has become . . . more about the experience I'm providing for them. . . I am stunned-really - genuinely stunned - by the vast variety of women's bodies I see there.  There are women of all, and I really do mean all, sizes and shapes.  It's impossible not to marvel at the sheer variety of shapes that we come in, and at how much is revealed when clothes are stripped away.  It's so much more intimate than even the beach, where even small bathing suits can disguise and guide the flesh in various aesthetic directions. . . not one woman I've ever seen here looks anything like the women we see every day in magazines, on TV and in films. . . not one with the flat belly, slim hips and large breasts that you'd think were standard equipment from media images. . . I can't overstate how invaluable it is for young girls to grow up seeing real women . . . My daughters are too young to understand this yet, but I am very much hoping that as they grow older they will, in a way that's beyond abstract: real women have bumps and lumps, cellulite in places you didn't even know you could have cellulite, scars, tattoos, and oddly shaped breasts and areolas.  Skinny girls can have flabby tummies, and fat women can be gorgeous.  I would say that nudity is the great equalizer, except it's actually the opposite: nudity reveals how immensely varied we are.  And how terribly manipulated we've been when it comes to seeing our own bodies.” – Zanthe Taylor, https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/million-meals/201202/the-un-erotic-glories-nudity

“One thing you might want to consider is if you’re not ready to let the other(s) know that you’re a nudist is to always have something to cover up next to you and ask them that if your door is closed to knock and allow you answer the door.  Tell them you’d like their respect when your door is closed.” – Scott Redcloud, http://www.naktiv.net/blog/1031/what-can-you-do-when-growing-up-in-a-household-of-non-nudists-the-naturist-/

“I still struggle with how I can be in my world and be a naturist at the same time.  I already knew that being nude, especially in nature was therapeutic for me. . . perhaps there was something I had missed along the way, perhaps I had not tried hard enough. . . I need to know who and what I am.  Those around me need to know as well; they need to know the who, the what, and the why of my relationship to naturism.  Only then can they realign themselves with who I am authentically rather than some distorted and lived lie of who I am.” - http://rglongpre.ca/naturistlens/2016/02/19/the-who-the-what-and-the-why-of-being-a-naturist/

Working on the Mingus Freehiking Trail

I enjoyed another morning working nude on the Mingus Freehiking Trail (11/11/2016).  The weather was perfect, although I suspect it might get too cold for naturist work soon (before Thanksgiving), so let me know if you wish to hike it in the next week or so.  I finished clearing the easier alternate trail up to the meadow.  Then spent time extending the trail to a place where I can see the wonderful rocky point (maybe 1.5 miles from the trail head).  Is anyone ready for a freehike and nude picnic before the season ends?
Mingus Freehike

Today (11/10/2016) I spent much of the morning working on the Mingus Freehiking Trail – clearing a new path, and digging a trail across the meadow, in preparation for a freehike with Amy.  I returned and picked her up and we enjoyed our time freehiking the trail together.  I love freehiking, and especially love her for her willingness to join me.

Mingus Yet Again

Wednesday (11/9/2016), after some work appointments, I again had time toextend the Mingus Freehiking Trail.  It now goes past the cut made for the electric lines perhaps a half mile.  The weather was great- warm enough to enjoy working nude, but cool enough to keep at it without water.  It’s always wonderful to enjoy working in the forest nude.  Let me know if you’d like directions to this seldom used, forest trail.

“I love to hike naked and take several hikes each week during the summer, and once or twice a month in the winter, when the weather cooperates.  When I get to one of my trailheads and take off my clothes and stand naked again, it's like my body breathes a sigh of relief at being cooped up in clothes since the last hike.” – BillBill

“Nude gardening is one of my favorite pastimes.  I spend time most days digging and planting and watering and decorating on our land. But of course the best part of naked gardening is being natural in the shade and sun.  With naked gardening you're cool even on a hot day - the sweat naturally cools your body, and of course there are no sweaty clothes to make you uncomfortable, and no laundry afterwards.  And you don't have to worry about getting dirty; a wonderful shower washes away all the dirt - heaven.  I'd recommend nude gardening to everyone.” – Ken Freehiker

“I hike naked comfortably for hours at a time with the temperatures in the low to mid thirties F and light breeze, as long as I am moving. . . The deal breaker under these conditions is the wind.  As the temperature goes lower, I tolerate less wind, higher and I can tolerate more of it.  I am good for an all-day naked hike under most circumstances if the temperature is in the mid fifties or higher.  If the wind is light, fifties is fine for me sitting naked, as well. . . I once started out on a cold overcast day last fall on Mt Monadnock in NH wearing kilt, tank, tee, and knit cap.  Within 10 minutes, I was sweaty, cold, and miserable.  Off came everything except the shoes and socks, and I was comfy the rest of the day. . . [You should] ease in slowly, by continuing to hike naked through the fall and into the early winter . . . Put on clothes or retreat when it is no longer enjoyable.  Hiking naked in the cold is best done with a pack. The only difference between textile hiking in the cold and naked hiking in the cold is that everything that you would be wearing textile, and then some, plus a survival kit, will be in your pack in case you need it. . . keep in mind that when hiking naked in the cold you must eat and drink, almost continuously.  Your body is probably burning more calories than usual . . . Done with care, hiking naked in the off season is a most amazing experience." – Dan

“My sister and I were raised by our mother (our dad passed away when we were very young).  She had made it a practice to walk around nude most of the time.  My sister and I would go nude when the mood struck us. . . I still walk around the house nude all the time.  My wife . . . was raised the same way and doesn't see a problem with it.  So whenever my sister comes over we all hang out and sunbathe or just visit nude.“ – Playnaked

Naked Mingus Work

I worked on the Mingus Freehiking Trail the last few days (7/8/2016).  I finished the nude picnic area (see the photo below), and extended the trail quit a way beyond the meadow cut for the electric lines.  Because few people ever visit the area, I was again able to comfortably hike this moderate trail and work without a textile net; this would be an ideal trail for sharing freehiking with a reticent spouse.  The weather was beautiful for naked work in the forest.  Anyone want to visit?  If so, let me know and I’ll send information.

QUOTES 11/9/2016

“I want people to open their minds enough to realize that the human body is a work of art sculpted by the hand of God, and should not only be viewed in a sexual manner.”  - Crimson Reign, nude art model and 20-year Lupus survivor, Tom Pine Newdesletter, 17 #1

“Your private parts, armpits, and feet are generally restricted all day and are often covered by multiple layers, even in the summer time.  Give those parts a chance to air out and breathe.  This can lower the risk of skin diseases, like athlete’s foot, that result from wet, restricted skin.” - https://zedie.wordpress.com/2015/11/15/what-are-the-benefits-of-sleeping-naked/

“Your body’s beauty is the personal handiwork of God.  Literally, it’s a kind of divine ‘self-portrait.’  As such, it is worthy of great honor and dignity!  Your body’s beauty is not found in how sexually ‘attractive’ it might be according to the world’s perverted notions; it is found in the fact that your body reflects God’s own likeness.  Furthermore, regardless of your body shape, it still bears God’s original design.  It is not only the young, the thin, or the strong who reflect the Divine image, but every last one of us, regardless of age, weight, or gender.  The honor and dignity of God’s likeness rests on our bodies now and for all eternity.  To God, everybody is beautiful… wrinkles, rolls, warts, and all.  We would do well to adopt God’s perspective in this matter.  And until we do, we will dishonor God’s image on those we call ‘ugly.’” - Pastor Ed, http://mychainsaregone.org/articles/the-imago-dei/#sthash.DOQ4d6TF.dpuf

“Nude runners braved the elements and bared all for a good cause at a South Yorkshire visitor attraction last night.  The half-mile naked dash around Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster aimed to boost the park’s innovative Project Polar campaign.  A group of 43 hardy fundraisers were sponsored to get starkers and complete a short streak around the park, which has two polar bears called Victor and Pixel. . . It was the idea of British Naturism and was in a restricted area of the park, with the only spectators will be friends and family of those who dare to bare. . .  ‘Nude events in ‘public’ locations are on the increase with members of the public realizing what fun it is and how good being naked in the open air feels.’” – Ellen Beardmore, http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/video-nude-runners-bare-all-for-polar-bear-cause-at-south-yorkshire-attraction-1-7423483

“I arrived at the camp [in Montenegro] later that day.  It’s called Camp Full Monte.  It was started by a super affable English couple, Steve and Denise.  The wonderful thing about it was that it wasn’t just ‘naturist camping.’  It was rather like staying in a friend’s beautiful and prolific naturist garden where you can lay out, read, nap, knit or whatever.  From the moment you take your clothes off you feel like you’re in a veritable Garden of Eden.  The entire layout of their venture was really thoughtful and charming.  The owners themselves are great company and committed to your time there.  And their guests were very outgoing people interested in getting to know everyone.  The place, for the most part, is totally ‘off the grid’ and is a completely green eco-camp.  The food from the garden was amazing.” - –ason Moore, Young Naturists & Nudists America, http://youngnaturistsamerica.com/my-european-adventure-into-naturism/
