“Strip nude during the summer to save energy.” – Kensunwalker

Discussion

I remove my clothes as soon as I get home, if not before.  Then I usually stay naked at home.  And I generally work naked outside.

Are you mostly naked at home as well?

If so, you probably save energy during the summer.  Lower air-conditioning bills.  Fewer clothes with less laundry.  And of course, more contented feelings.

“We live in an atmosphere of shame.  We are ashamed of everything that is real about us; ashamed of ourselves . . . ashamed of our naked skins.” – George Bernard Shaw, A Brief History of Nakedness, 2013, p. 195

“Procession of the Naked 2015 (II)” Video - https://vimeo.com/149422870

“Usually . . . naturist/nudist conversations focus almost exclusively on the nudity part. . . We don’t talk much about . . . the environment. . . the key things that could invite more people to try out naturism and clothes free living. . . What if, rather than obsess over the nudity aspect, we shape the invitation to naturism around, well, nature?  Many of us women yearn to spend more time in nature.  We want to feel that healing connection back to earth and all things organic.  Nature allows us to be ourselves.  We get to step away from all the frustrations of the day, the catcalls, the pressures and just be.  Fresh air, plants, water, animals.  All of these things are very healing to us.  We remember who we are. . . if naturists are trying to figure out more ways to get women involved, include nature in your approaches!  Nature-ism! . . . Instead of making it about mandatory nudity . . . rules and ideology, make it about her.  Invite women to an experience.  Speak to the healing, the space, the freedom.  Promote the trees, how it feels to breathe fresh air, the melting away of stress.  Meditation in nature.  Journaling outdoors.  Walking about in direct connection to the environment.  These are the things we need in order to heal, reconnect, balance and empower ourselves. . . Nature gives us a wonderful opportunity to reach out, invite and connect with others.  Let’s use it!  Naturally!” – Honhouniheart, https://clothesfreelife.com/2017/01/11/women-and-nature-ism/

“. . . my wife called me and asked me to go to my sister in laws house to repair her washer she would be leaving for work and her daughter for school . . . But I said I didn't have my work clothes on and didn't want to ruin what I was wearing and she told me well they won't be there just get naked.  Well you don't have to ask twice.  Got busy and forgot I was naked as usual, time passed.  The next thing I heard was a car door close and panic . . . as she [the sister] was leaving she asked how it was going.  I said slow trying hard to not get grease all over me, she just laughed and said well I'm leaving, just take your clothes off and don’t worry.” – Farmerbare, https://www.truenudists.com/group/you-know-youre-a-nudist-/1/102144/

“Maybe you remember . . . Twister.  Doing that in the nude is seriously entertaining . . . you can’t keep doing this all the time, I understand, but it’s great fun to do, especially if you can invite a few naturist friends over.” – Paul, http://zjuzdme.org/blog/2016/11/30/what-to-do-when-the-cold-creeps-in/

“Being naked reminds one what is really important.” – Kensunwalker

Discussion

Great question:  What is really important?

Is a great but demanding job most important?  No.

Is a fancy house or fancy clothes most important?  No.

Family?  Yes.  Friends?  Yes.  A  wife who loves you and understands?  Yes, of course!

But for me, happiness with me is most important, and for me that includes nakedness.

What is most important for you?

“By becoming a nudist, you will: 1. Save the Amazon and increase oxygen, 2. Increase food production and reduce starvation, 3. Save hundreds of thousands of animals, 4. Save fresh water and protect the soil, 5. Save money, 6. Save time, 7. Save yourself, And by saving all these, you will be able to save the world.” - https://fatunclecheapo.wordpress.com/2015/01/19/save-the-world-be-a-nudist/

“Five famous people who enjoyed nakedness: Henry David Thoreau (Author), Hilary Swank (Actress), Isadora Duncan (Dancer), Jack Nicholson (Actor), Jackie Kennedy Onassis (First Lady).

“One of the long-standing traditions of German culture is to ‘take the baths.’ . . . Many cities have their own ‘baths’ and there are towns everywhere with the prefix “bad,” meaning bath.  These are generally natural mineral baths, alleged to have curative powers, or at least health-enhancing properties.  It is also tradition to take the baths naked.  While some days or times may be set aside for one gender, as in Asian cultures, the majority of the time is co-ed.” – Susan Kraus, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/susan-kraus/getting-naked-with-strang_b_4966707.html

“Can people forget clothes?  Absolutely.  I remember a nudist who tells how he jumped in his car, drove half way to town on an errand and then realized he was naked.  Once you live without clothes for a time, you normalize to it - like when you get used to cold or hot climates.” - SteveYNA, https://youngnaturistsamerica.com/nudist-moms-home-nude-family-nudism-etiquette-kids/

“. . . the noblest art is the nude.”- Isadora Duncan, A Brief History of Nakedness, 2013, p. 195

“Despite it all, one of the reasons I am still able to confidently strip down my clothes and walk down the beach for all to see is my ability to not just accept my body as it is, but celebrate it.  I am a mother of three beautiful children, and I am proud that my body shows signs of motherhood. . . And though there are times I wish I had my pre-pregnancy body back, I am grateful that my experiences have made me stronger and more confident than I ever was when I was a size 2.  I am happier now in my average body than I was then.  I am more confident naked now than I was then.  And with that confidence and those new life experiences, I have met some interesting people along the way and made a couple amazing friends.” – Charlotte, https://ourclothingoptionaltrips.wordpress.com/2017/01/22/our-bodies-tell-stories-how-one-woman-embraced-her-lifes-journey-through-nudism/

“Celebrate the body you have.” – Kensunwalker

Discussion

Appreciation is essential to improvement!  Why would you expect something better if you can't appreciate what you already have first?

So, from a naturist perspective, one must first be willing to share the body they wear and love it for all the beauty it has before trying to make it different.

What do you think?
