“TIES! Is there
any piece of clothing more heinous than a tie?
It’s basically a choking hazard and it cuts off circulation to the
brain. I cannot imagine showing up at
the Pearly Gates and Saint Peter reprimanding me for my lack of neckwear. No Bible verse I’ve found states, ‘Thou shalt
wear ties on Wednesdays or when attending church.’ . . . Now let me just take a
moment to discuss swimwear. Remember my
feelings for ties and church shoes? It
does not compare to my loathing for bathing suits. I can’t imagine how stuffing a vagina into a
bikini must feel, but whoever invented modern men’s swim trunks needs to be
punched in the nuts. There are few worse
sensations than walking around Adventure Island for eight straight hours with
sopping wet genitals and the rest of your body bone dry. These things hold water better than Pampers’
diapers. I’ve forgotten swim trunks in
my car for days only to discover they’re still wet! At the beach, sand gets sucked into your butt
crack and every crease and crevice of your testicles and pee hole. I avoid the beach just so I don’t have to
suffer wearing the damn things.” – Nick Alimonos, http://youngnaturistsamerica.com/least-likely-become-a-nudist/,

Why Work Naked?
I’ve had the chance to work on the trail on my land for the
last couple of days – one day naked (2/25/17) and one day clothed (2/26/17). What’s the difference? Why work naked? Is it for comfort? Yes, it was too cold one day to work naked,
but I needed to constantly adjust my clothing, something that was obviously not
necessary when working naked. Working
naked on the nice-weather day just felt more comfortable. Was it to show off? I don’t think so. I purposely avoided being seen when working
naked, confining my work to areas where I wouldn’t be noticed, and working
naked certainly had nothing to do with sexuality. Was it to be the true me? Yes, I think that gets to the heart of the
difference. Perhaps I’ve always been a
bit of a non-conformist, even though I was raised in a very conservative
community. For sure, I’ve always enjoyed
being naked (I guess I have the naked gene).
Working naked is just me. I’m
grateful I now live among people who try to understand and love me anyway.

people just as they are, regardless of what they look like. On a nude beach, nobody is perfect, and
everyone has flaws. . . There are all types of bodies, and no one should feel
like they’re not good looking enough to be there. A naturist setting is the one place where you

“Before we could give ourselves a chance to overthink
it, we decided ‘screw it!’ Whipped off
our tops, dropped trou, and brought out the pasty white buns. Gone were the overpriced bathing suits
designed by Calvin Klein and Michael Kors, replaced by the less pricey birthday
suits designed by the more universally-known God almighty. It was official. We were butt-naked at midday on a public
beach. . . As soon as the bikini was off and the birthday suit was on, I was
overcome by a newfound sense of freedom.
Words can’t even begin to describe the cathartic nature of being fully
exposed. It’s not just a bathing suit
you’re shedding. It’s a pile of fears,
insecurities, and weird-head-spaces that you’ve clung onto for years. The physical action only represents a more
grandiose, metaphorical one. . . as soon as the bathing suit was removed and
the apple was set free, my internal freak-out dissipated into thin air. It was as though I had joined a club—a club

10 and 1/2 months. We were also
accompanied by five-year-old Ivy, an experienced hiker of the four-legged

hiking nude, with temperatures in the mid-80s and enough of a breeze to keep
the heat from being oppressive. Toward
the end of the hike we had a refreshing dip in Little Rock Pond, whose waters
were cool but not cold. It was a great
opportunity to get to know some other active naturists. We also passed about a dozen clothed hikers,
and took the opportunity to explain by wishing them each ‘Happy Naked Hiking
Day.’ Most were already aware of the
tradition, though several thought it was supposed to be the next day. One said that he had hiked nude for two hours
in the morning -- apparently just checking it off his list of things to do as
part of his through-hike experience rather than relaxing and really enjoying
the freedom. Too bad for him. We all, on the other hand, greatly enjoyed

Tonto Forest Freehike
Wednesday (2/22/2017) Amy and I drove down to Shangri La
Ranch and met a couple from Canada.
We
took a nice freehike in the Tonto National Forest, just five-minute drive from

I followed quickly. The weather and temperature
were perfect for hiking in the nude. Nude
walking always feels so nice, especially when sharing a naturist walk with new
friends.
It was great sharing the desert plants with these new
friends from Canada; they never imagined that a national forest could be mostly
cactus.

“[When] My ex-wife . . . ‘came out’ to her Mom. Her Mom not only approved - but also gave us
a ‘tacit green light’ to be nude around her.
My wife and daughter unhesitantly ran with it and stayed nude at home
around her. I tip-toed around it; I was
(and still am) really just much more comfortable being nude around
nudists. My MIL [Mother-in-Law] ‘caught’
me nude on a couple of occasions and it just felt awkward to me. I felt like she was seeing me with ‘textile
eyes’ . . .it was my fault. I wasn't
vocal about my feelings . . . I found out (too late) that she was wrestling
with her own body-shame, and my ‘hiding’ from her made her all the more
self-conscious. One day, I found out she
went nude with my wife and daughter after I left to visit a friend, and the reality
of the situation struck me. And it was
too late to turn it around. I should
have been more communicative. I didn't
think about what could have worked instead of what was not working for me. I do know that what wouldn't have worked for
me was just dropping my clothes when she dropped by and while she stayed
dressed. But if I'd had a simple
conversation with her I would have found out that the idea of resort nudism
intrigued her. I could have told her
that I would have really liked it if she'd accompany us on a resort trip, even
if she chose to remain covered. And at
the resort, where I always go nude anyway, it would have been much easier to be
nude around her. And once that step had
been taken, we could have had a frank discussion about her participation.” –

“The only fly in the suncream . . . is that many
textiles still get agitated when confronted with the human body. For although there is arguably a greater
acreage of flesh visible in the west today, on our screens and our beaches, in
our clubs and our magazines, than in previous times, the reasons for its
display are invariably sexual, whether directly, as in pornography, or
indirectly, as in Wimbledon. Which is
why nude bathers, despite being ‘harmless’ through and through, must screen
swimming pool windows and hide themselves away at the rocky end of the
beach. All of which is a constant source
of puzzlement and irritation to naturists. . . ‘What you find an awful lot of

Why? Because God designed us this

It’s so simple that it seems crazy, but the answer is literally to just
take your clothes off and live as God intended, naked and without shame. . .
‘Show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my
works.’ What is my work? I get naked without shame before God and

“My favorite freehike east of El Paso is the Center
Hill Hike (my name). It starts just
south of the Pole Line Road, and heads west towards a lonely hill surrounded by
flat desert land. The vegetation along
the way is typically El Paso, with lots of greasewood and a few yucca
cactus. The dirt road ends at the south
end of the hill, and it’s an easy, sloping hike to the summit from that
point. There are many different cactus
plants to enjoy on the way to the top, where a wonderful 360-degree view greets
you. You can see El Paso in the

sitting in the tub I noticed that everyone was sitting around (in the nude) and
were visiting with everyone, and no one was looking at the new nude
person. It finally clicked and I learned
to relax, and talked to everyone there to find out more information. It was so great. I have never looked back from then." –

“You can start with your own home. . . try walking
around the house nude and getting comfortable in your own skin.” - http://www.henaturist.net/naturism-frequently-asked-questions/?platform=hootsuite
“. . . when you are nude and have managed to not take
along too many things, you can practically float along the trail. Not just smooth, flat trails but any
trail. You can manage pretty well by
leaving more things behind. It might be
minimalist but it is also primativist . . . And it's more fun - but mainly
because you're naked.” – Blue Train

“Naturism is spiritual – Historically, religion and
nudity go together. Christians believe
God created mankind naked and unashamed, walking naked in the Garden of
Eden. Other religions also treated
nudity positively. Nudity has been key
to spirituality throughout the ages from Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten and his
wife Nefertiti, through the early Indian religious Jane and Jewish prophets,
like Isaiah, Christ entering Jerusalem and administering the washing of feet,
original baptism ceremonies, groups of Adamite Christians in northern Africa
and southern Europe, to current Naturist Christians and other religious
groups. Treated in the right way,
naturism should be about quiet, prayerful, thankful reflection and humility
before God. A spiritual gathering of
like-minded naturists can be very moving.
Little can compare spiritually to walking nude through a forest, jumping
rocks by a stream, or hiking across a mountain pass as the wind embraces the
entire body - at one with nature and God.
Religion should embrace all Truth and naturism is closely associated
with the Truth as has been discussed.
However, in opposition to this Puritanism and related dogma have infused
society with hypocritical ideals, treating the body as pornographic
(perpetuating Satan’s original lie), and in the process creating cultural,
fanatic groups which treat normal nudity as sinful. Modern society often reacts inappropriately,
treating religion generally with skepticism or even hostility. Judge mentalism abounds on both sides. As a result, helping and caring and giving
and service of all types suffers.
Single-minded fanaticism like this is always FALSE, and may even be
dangerous.” - Ken

“Nudists can change this by not hiding behind a fence
. . . Be more open about their lifestyle choice, be willing to defend that
choice and be tolerant towards other people that don’t care about your choice,
but don’t want to, or haven’t yet made the same choice. This means that mingling clothes-free and
clothed people should be more promoted and encouraged.” – William Scuby, https://clothesfreelife.com/2014/02/18/a-house-divided-cannot-stand-whats-happening-to-the-clothes-free-community/

“I recently discovered’ a loop trail
about a quarter mile from the house that would be perfect for an after dark
naked bike ride or naked hike. I say I
‘discovered’ it because I have known about it for several years but since it
basically runs through a 20-mile field I never even considered it to take a
hike given how close the mountains are to our house. That trail first caught my attention a couple
months ago when I was coming home late on a full moon night when I thought ‘Now
THAT would be a great trail to hike naked at night.’” - Kenfreehiker

“When I was young and started to read Playboy magazine
and saw the pictures of the famous Grotto, I thought that looked like fun. Swimming naked. I said to myself, I am going to have a pool
like this, and skinny-dip at home. When
I was watching a house one day for a neighbor, the house had a pool and I was
by myself, so off with the shorts and for about 10 minutes, I skinny-dipped for
the first time. It was great. Finally, in 1999, I bought a house with a
pool. Felt just as great as the first
time. There were other times, like me
and a girlfriend skinny-dipping late night at my apartment swimming pool. But nothing like it at home. And the next house was the same, but the backyard
was very open so I had to do it late night because of the elderly neighbor.” -

“Wife and I enjoy naked evening bike rides on a trail
that goes 10 miles to a small town. We
stop at the restaurant enjoy supper and ride back naked. We rarely see one else after dark. Once we put our shirts on to cross the one
road the trail crosses and just before we took them off we noticed a group of 7
riders coming so we just stood there till they passed. As they passed we could briefly tell in our
lights that they were naked. What fun!”

“Body Acceptance.
Our culture has been brain washed by the Madison Avenue fashion experts
who tell us in picture and words what a ‘perfect’ body is like. How many times have you looked in the mirror
and thought disparagingly at your body?
Not enough muscle, undefined abs, too little breast, wide hips, or not
enough hair, and so it goes. Naturism
puts you in touch with your body and you see that others are ‘just like
you.’ Plus, you realize that the ‘super
models’ in life are really not that pretty nude and the magazine ‘centerfolds’
are definitely airbrushed. Bottom line:
you realize it doesn’t matter what you look like.” - Pastor Jeffery Bowman, https://lazeruslong.wordpress.com/2015/11/02/body-acceptance/

Nude
Cruise
Amy and I just returned from a nude cruise in the
Caribbean (Feb. 4-14, 2017), which left from Tampa, FL, and stopped at Key
West, Half-Moon Cay, Grand Turk, and the Dominican Republic. I’m ‘not’ going to write a blow-by-blow daily
account of the cruise – just know it was amazing. Instead, I’d like to share a few
observations:
- It
felt so comfortable being naked everywhere on the boat, with everyone dressed
or not. The boat workers were totally
cool with us naked folk, and many said they wished they could join us, and most people on the islands were fine as well.
- Looking
through the cruise directory, I noticed that there were naturists on board from
nearly everywhere. One couple we met
lived only a half hour away from our home (we didn’t know them before and they
didn’t know about our non-landed club in the area), but this couple still
worked and didn’t want anyone to know they cruised nude.
-The
first day few people got nude. The
second day was different (maybe 90% were nude).
Throughout the cruise I noticed that most were nude when sunning on the
deck, but few were nude at night or at activities. Why do “naturists” dress during these times?
- We
were naked on three beaches to places we cruised – Half-Moon Cay, Grand Turk,
and the Dominican Republic. Swimsuits
suck! Naked - wow!
- We didn't see any overt sexual
activity on the cruise.
This is a great way to introduce someone to naturism.
