“Nudists go around with their hands over their faces,
pretending they are not nudists at all, never letting anyone ‘outside the
secret circle’ know what they do during their ‘private’ time, for ‘fear of
exposure’. Just imagine for one moment
how it might be if the naturist community all ‘came out naked’ at once! There would be hysteria of course at first,
and then laws would be put into place to protect naturist rights. This won't happen because so many . . . try
to keep all of our heads below the parapets. . . The puritans don't need to
bother getting out the big guns, the nudists will destroy their own hopes all
on their own. . . We, as people who have an interest in promoting a naked
lifestyle, whether in private or in public, need to work together to achieve
our aims. . . we need to support one another.
Working together, and more openly with non-naked sectors, is the only
way forward to a better, more naked-friendly, world.” – Richard Foley, http://www.naktiv.net/blog/477/fud-in-naked-communities/t_1470955449/

“It used to be hard for me to understand why anyone
would want to become a nudist. Being
naked was always so embarrassing and uncomfortable for me, even when alone or
in front of my husband. I made the
choice to try nudism because I needed so badly to overcome the negative force
that body-shame was having on my life.
Nudism is not about being seen; it’s about the freedom to accept
ourselves and others just as we are. We
shed uncomfortable clothing to experience the joy of feeling the sun and wind
all over us, not just on the body parts that society deems acceptable to be
seen. Nudists are normal people with
jobs, families, joys and sorrows. We are
young, old, thin, fat, Black, Asian, Caucasian, gay and straight. We are not judgmental about others, contrary
to what you may think. We don't
critique, grade, categorize, or dismiss you based on your body shape and
size. You are what you are, and so am I. I am free to be who I am without
prejudice. Body flaws and shame cease to
close us off from living life fully because of something we cannot change. And in leaving that shame behind, we become
truly free.” – Anna, https://socalnaturist.org/membership/womenspeak.php
“Of course the laws for sexual conduct must stay in
place, but there’s really no reason why we true nudists/naturists can’t be the
real, happy people we really are. If I
feel more comfortable the less I wear and I’m not being a pervert of sexual
about it, then it should not be a big deal.
If we feel more comfortable naked, then let us be naked and happy, just
as we let other minorities come to do over the years.” - Buck, https://cloptzone.wordpress.com/2016/10/03/just-let-us-nudists-be-the-people-we-really-are/
