". . . did you know that in January patriotic
nudists celebrate Benjamin Franklin: Founding Father, inventor, statesman and
nudist? Known as ‘The First American,’
Benjamin Franklin is certainly one of the most revered figures in American
history. From his many inventions
including bifocals and the lightning rod, to his accomplishments as a
politician and diplomat, and as a Founding Father of the United States of America,
Franklin lived a colorful and highly influential life. . . Benjamin Franklin is
only one of a number of famous nudists (or naturists) in history. Others known to have enjoyed skinny-dipping
or other nude activities include John Quincy Adams, Theodore Roosevelt, Lyndon
Johnson, The Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Walt Whitman and Henry David Thoreau.
In popular culture, Helen Mirren, Drew Barrymore, Alanis Morissette, Elle
McPherson, Alicia Silverstone, Woody Harrelson, Heidi Klum and many others have
indicated that they too enjoy shedding their clothes. . . So what are you
waiting for? It's Benjamin Franklin's
birthday on January 17, go ahead and honor his life and legacy by spending some
time in your own birthday suit!" - Cedar Trails Nudist Retreat
“Yesterday, as I was walking naked down the road
(except boots) to work on the tail around Shangri La, I realized how completely
naturism has become natural for me. I
felt totally natural walking and working naked outdoors. In fact, it took conscious thought to even
realize I was naked. Even the idea of
working in clothes seemed totally insane. Later I stopped to talk for about five minutes
about the trail with a lady friend who was out walking her dog. Afterwards, I realized how amazing it was for
a naked guy to approach and talk with a naked woman without a care from either person.” – Kenfreehiker

"We're a couple from southern VA. . . Have done a
couple short naked hikes at twilight and early evening . . . Our hike was
basically cross-country through some nice 50+ year hardwoods off of an
abandoned trail. Once safely away from
the parking area and a nearby trail, we followed a large stream and were able
to enjoy our freedom. We ended up on a
fire break for the last 1/2 mile or so that took us back to the car. 2-1/2 miles
total. We then drove to our little
retreat near Boydton, VA where we feel more free about stripping
completely. Enjoyed several hours
listening to the song birds, a Barred owl, and watching the squirrels. . . next

“As far as waiting until one is ready to tell family
and friends before sharing a photo, it's far better to let family and friends
know from the first on your own terms than to have them find out later, before
you have a chance to explain what naturism is and isn't. From experience, I know they will find
out. It doesn't take a nude photograph
for people to find out - just word-of-mouth, and that's nearly impossible to
stop, Internet, photo, or not. One can
always compromise and allow back photos but not front photos. After all, the most important aspect of a
naturist photo is the context anyway, not the naked body.” – Kenfreehiker
“Wairau Valley Golf Course [New Zealand] may never be
the same again as about 25 keen naturists hit the green. You could say naked ambition drove a first

United Kingdom and Australia, took part in Nude Golf International at the

“I have run the gamut from car camping to back packing
and a few years ago I got a travel trailer . . . I love getting out in nature
and for me now camping in a nude campground is pretty close to heaven. Some are more to my liking than others and I
have definitely camped nude outside of these places at remote locations in the
desert and in the mountains, but it is really nice to get up in the morning and
not have to ever worry about wearing clothes period. I have wonderful memories of nude camp outs
with my friends from the Camping Bares, soaking in natural hot springs under
the stars enjoying a glass of wine feeling the hot water soak my weary bones
and contemplating the heavens. Great
times.” – NudeAl

“Got back last week from a three-day canoe trip on the
Green River in Utah. We floated from
Green River State Park down to Mineral Bottom near Moab. Was able to be nude the entire time after
leaving the put-in, except for evenings when it was still too cool and
buggy. The river was high, so you could
float with very little paddling.
Campsites were somewhat difficult to find due to the high water covering
gravel and sand bars. There are plenty
of great hikes that can be made up side canyons-all suitable for nude
recreation. I particularly enjoyed
poking around the old Hey Joe Mine - nude of course.” – Mike

“. . . for as long as I can remember, I was never
required to wear a robe or use a towel to cover up when walking from the

December Weather 2017
The weather has been amazing this December (2017). I've been able to get outside naked most days, even Christmas Eve and Christmas day, and yesterday, the day after Christmas, I worked outside nude building a camping area for a couple of hours, and walked the Nature and Meditation trail for nearly an hour (naked of course). I simply love being a naturist, even in December!

“I kept my eyes down most of the time. I tried never to draw attention to myself. I
wore baggy grey clothes and ignored anyone trying to get my attention by, god

school. I never looked in the mirror. I felt physical pain whenever I caught an
accidental glimpse of myself. . . I had become the awkward young woman with the
acne covered skin and bubble butt. I
turned inward. There was nothing else I

Naturists Make the Best Naturalists
Isn’t it interesting that the closer you get to nature, the
more you desire freedom from clothing?
I love to be naked in nature, and often work that way. I’ve built many public and private nature
trails and camp sites. I currently have nearly a mile
of nature and mediation trails and several camp sites on my land in Dewey, AZ, where I’ve posted signs
identifying the local vegetation, along with nature quotes.
My naturist friends love walking these trails naked with me, and some
have helped clean them up for the season.
I have friends who organized and built trails for naked
campers at the Magic Circle in Quartzite, AZ.
I’ve built some there as well.
I know people who freehike with an empty bag so they can pick
up and carry out junk left by textiles.
What does all this cost?
Nothing!
The idea that we must tax people so the government can
protect natural areas is simply false.
This simply allows bureaucrats to skim off our hard-earned money. Most outdoor work is done by volunteers, who may need to be trained and supervised, but I'll bet experts would volunteer to do this for free, especially if they could do it naked.
And some prudish bureaucrats create laws that limit our freedom to be naked in nature, costing everyone more, and stopping the very behavior that might improve things.
So, let’s love nature NAKED AND FREE!

“One of the claimed functions of the bra is to ‘support.’ If naturists appear to need little support when nude, why would they need support when textiled? The concept of support is of course entirely fictional. . . it is hard to believe that the human female was created in a way that required her to have her breasts cantilevered to prevent losing them, or damaging them. . . In reality, what the bra does is elevate the breast to a horizontal position, imitating pubescent breasts, thereby throwing the entire weight onto the back, neck and shoulders, sometimes with serious health consequences.” – https://youngnaturistsamerica.com/naturism-naturist-women-bra-necessity/

2017
Year in Review
Our main theme for 2017 was “Get a house on our land”
in Dewey, AZ. This year, we accomplished that!
The year started with a February nude Caribbean cruise. Amy and I visited several islands along with Lee,
Steve, Kitty, Larry, and hundreds of other naked folk. It was relaxing and exciting to sail naked and
enjoy these exotic places. The only
downer of the trip was losing my front bridge of teeth in the ocean at the
Grand Turkes (near the place we swam naked with the sting rays). I guess a passing barracuda is wearing them
now.
We enjoyed freehiking together, and with others on the
Mingus Mountain Freehiking trail and in the desert near Shangri La. Dan helped me clear the Mingus Mountain
Freehiking trail.
Our land has beautiful views! I often worked on the trails – many times
nude. I also nurtured a nude garden (the
tomatoes did great this year). As always,
it felt great to be without clothes in nature.
In July we traveled north to attend a family reunion. On the way we camped near Cedar Breaks national monument.
In August we finally finished the house on our land - what a relief after so long a wait. Because we had to move from our Pre
scott Valley apartment, we lived the first few weeks of August on our land in our travel trailer until the house was completed. But, at last we were able to live on our land and it was great! We had waited so long.

scott Valley apartment, we lived the first few weeks of August on our land in our travel trailer until the house was completed. But, at last we were able to live on our land and it was great! We had waited so long.
The nature and meditation trail on our land was nearly
complete, so I was able to walk free in nature nearly every day after
throughout the year. It has become a
spiritual retreat for us. We love this!
One day in September, Amy asked if I had heard from
Rick Roller. I explained that it had
been months. An hour later he called
and explained that we needed to recruit Realtors again. He’d discovered a super opportunity with a newer
company – eXp Realty. Later that day, I decided to go for
it and called the local Real Estate school – the last class of the year was
starting that night. So, I’m off on a
new venture, and hope to finish the Real Estate test before year end.
During October and November I constructed a shed on the side of our new house. We needed a shed for the soft water unit we bought anyway, so I simply made it bigger to hold my tools and yard equipment. It turned out great! Not bad for an old guy.
Amy was busy beautifying the inside of the new home. She added a fireplace/mantle, and two sliding barn doors, along with other features.
We spent Thanksgiving Day with family and then with friends celebrating the anniversary of our naked commitment ceremony at the Magic Circle in Quartzite, walking the new trails, eating out at the pizza place, and enjoying a wonderful meal cooked in sun ovens by Lee.

In December, Amy and I traveled to Yuma, stayed at a
RV park for three days, and had our teeth fixed across the border in
Mexico. It’s amazing to look real again
after losing my teeth in the ocean!
