GRAPEVINE RIPARIAN FREEHIKE
Saturday, October 3, 2016, we freehiked with three NAZ
members from Tucson and Las Vegas. They
had traveled especially for this weekend.
We first freehiked our land in Dewey, AZ; they were of course amazed by
the trail. Then we drove south about ½
hour to freehike the Grapevine Riparian area, near Mayer, AZ. This was a fantastic area for freehiking, as
can be seen by the photos below. Most of
the trail was in cool shade, and many springs added wonderful views of streams
below the trail. Several ponds were
large enough to soak in, but the water was very cold. We recommend this freehiking area to all NAZ
members; maybe we’ll visit again in a week or so. Anyone interested?
